Long-lasting poverty is more than an economic situation. Poverty impacts physical, mental, spiritual, and social conditions, and in some cases becomes a completely separate culture. Unfortunately that culture is often overlooked, and many families in poverty are not being reached by the traditional church.

The Bridge Conference is a special seminar about generational poverty, how this social subculture impacts our community, and how Christians can begin to understand the mindsets and lifestyle of poverty before reaching out to those who live in its grip. Bridge can also help educators, business leaders, and government officials understand ways they can modify their own organizations to work with adults and children with a Generational Poverty background.

Bridge Conference is presented by senior volunteers from Kids 4 Christ. The seminar combines material from Generational Povery researcher Ruby K. Payne, author Bill Ehlig, and pastor Raymond J. Bakke, along with real-world experiences from nine years of ministry at Kids 4 Christ. Conference guests are encouraged to participate in the presentation and are given materials to help them go beyond what's presented. The conference lasts approximately 3 hours with a short break.

Bridge is NOT about recruitment or fundraising for Kids 4 Christ. During the session several local ministries ministering to families in Generational Poverty (including Kids 4 Christ and The Care Mission) are examined as participants are encouraged to find their own ways to reach out through existing organizations or by starting their own.
